Course coordination: Interdisciplinary approach to the lower extremity. Global vision from physical activity
Dr. Alexia Casals coordinates the course INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO THE LOWER EXTREMITY. GLOBAL VIEW FROM PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, PHYSIOTHERAPY AND OSTEOPATHY aimed at podiatrists, podiatry students and health professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions and deformities in the lower extremity at the BAGES UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION
The objectives of the course are:
- Perform a correct examination of the lower extremity
- Know and know how to detect the different osteopathic dysfunctions at the level of the joints of the lower limb.
- Relate and treat the pathology of the pelvis-foot axis (lesional chains)
- Know the main palpable anatomy of the lower limb
- Know the different types of injury due to restriction of mobility in the different regions of the peripheral joints of the lower limb
- Understand the repercussions of the injury due to mobility restriction at a local and/or remote level
- Determine which musculoskeletal structure is responsible for the symptoms and the restriction of mobility
- Apply scanning techniques to find mechanical dysfunction and identify it
- Apply specific treatment techniques for mechanical dysfunction and integrate these techniques into clinical practice. The aim is therefore not only to teach how to treat the lower extremity, but to get to know it so that everyone can create their own unique method of treatment.
