Custom shoe insoles

The application of an orthopedic treatment requires a rigorous and precise exploration of the musculoskeletal system as a whole.

The custom orthotics are elements that are placed inside the shoes to correct alterations in the feet and legs, thus managing to alleviate and even avoid possible pain.

In Podomedic Centers we carry out custom orthotics with the latest technology in 3D scanners millimeter resolution, adapted to each patient according to their pathology and their needs.

1. Postural correction

  • Help Align the body correctly From the base (feet), which prevents problems on knees, hips, column and neck.

2. Pain prevention

  • They reduce or eliminate discomfort in feet, ankles, knees or back caused by bad footprint, plantar fasciitis, spur, etc.

3. Weight distribution

  • They distribute body weight in a balanced way, avoiding overloads in specific areas of the foot.

4. Improve sports performance

  • In athletes, good templates improve the footprint, prevent injuries and favor physical performance.

5. Adaptation to each person

  • Personalized templates are elaborated after a tread study or a footing of the foot, adapting to:
    • Arc of the foot (plane, normal or high)
    • Way of walking
    • Habitual activity (work, sport, etc.)

6. Relief for older people or chronic diseases

  • Very useful in people with:
    • Osteoarthritis
    • Diabetes (ulcers prevention)
    • Circulatory problems
    • DEFORMITIES (JUANETES, GARRA fingers ...)

The main objective of our insoles is to achieve correct foot posture, limit mechanical stresses and overloads, relieve and improve functionality during standing, and achieve normal, pain-free mobility in each phase of the gait cycle.

The effectiveness of the plantar supports depends on the fulfillment of these purposes and the enhancement of their action with appropriate footwear.

Plantar supports must be well tolerated by the patient, for this, they must be light, comfortable, alleviate or reduce discomfort and, above all, capable of improving the quality of our life.

It is essential to take into account aspects such as weight, height, the activity of each patient, as well as to choose the most suitable material according to variables such as hardness, recovery, and the percentage of compression of the insole components.

We take the mold of the foot by means of a 3D scanner that guarantees a more efficient, fast and precise design of the insoles.

It is an electronic device that allows 3-dimensional images to be captured directly from the sole of the patient's foot. This image is captured and processed by software with optimal resolution without having to use plaster or phenolic foam.

The great advantage of these scanners is that they allow us to correct or rectify the incorrect position of the foot during the scan and once the mold is obtained on the computer screen we can make the appropriate modifications.

Our titles as Orthopedic Technicians give us added value to our years of experience in this field, and have allowed us to expand our knowledge to design and rectify the plantar supports, in order to offer a 100% personalized treatment with the most avant-garde and last generation materials.

In Podomedic Centers we can make orthotics with different characteristics depending on the needs of our patients:

  • Realignment orthotics: Rigid or semi-rigid and elastic density. These insoles are used with the aim of preventing muscular atrophies and deformities in the foot, allowing to improve mobility, stability and walking ability.
  • Download orthotics: Soft or semi-soft density. These insoles are designed to correctly distribute the pressure that the foot feels when walking on the ground. They provide greater stability on the go.
  • Mixed orthotics: Combine hard and soft densities. The rigid material immobilizes the painful joints of the foot, seeking a containment effect without correction.

Custom insoles help relieve pain caused by pathologies such as:

Metatarsalgias, a painful foot disorder that affects the bones and joints of the metatarsal heads. These orthotics are indicated in the following processes: flat feet, pes cavus, congenital or acquired deformities, post-traumatic states, etc.

Other conditions such as: Plantar Fasciitis, Heel Spur, Sesamoiditis, Morton's Neuroma, Arthritis, Diabetes, Patellofemoral Syndrome.

Before we deliver the orthotics, we do a check. If the patient notices any discomfort, we rectify them immediately in our workshop.

All treatment with plantar supports must be reviewed regularly once a year, in this way we control not only the orthotics but their effects on the spine, pelvis and lower extremities.

If you have frequent pain when walking, feet fatigue, back problems or use orthopedic footwear, it is convenient to consult with a podiatrist.

Three generations taking care of your feet

Since 1979, family tradition and advanced technology for the health of your feet.

Soy Aurora Casals Lluch, Bachelor of Podiatry from the University of Barcelona and a proud representative of the third generation of my family's podiatrists.
It all started with my grandmother, Montserrat Castells Nat, passionate about knowledge and pioneer in its time. After obtaining all the diplomatures offered by the University of Barcelona, studied Podiatry (1975–1979) and in 1983 also qualified as an Orthopedic Technician. He started his career in Sant Feliu de Guíxols In 1979, in the consultation of my great -grandfather, a rural doctor of great prestige, Martí Casals.
In 1980 he opened another consultation in Barcelona, he collaborated with Dr. Ramón Vilat, worked in the US… ..
