Different types of footwear
If we walk barefoot, the front part (the metatarsus) supports 43% of the body weight, while the back part takes care of the remaining 57%. By increasing the size of the heel, we vary these percentages, inverting them. The maximum height of the heel to avoid ailments is 4 centimeters. In that case, the body weight is distributed 57% on the front of the foot and 43% on the back. With six centimeters, it goes to 75% - 25% and with a heel of 10 centimeters or more, the front part supports between 90 and 100% of the weight..
Entonces, Do we definitely banister the heel shoes that we like so much?
No, but we must take into account some recommendations:
- If we use a high heel, it is preferable that he has wedge in the front, so that the height difference in our foot does not exceed 4 centimeters.
- If we wear heeled shoes with platform, the sole must be flexible at the forefoot to be able to walk correctly, we must flee from rigid soles.
- Wedge -shaped heel and broad base also avoids overload in the metatarsal. We must avoid narrow base wedges because they produce instability.
- And if they can be ankle boots, boots or have a good grip to the ankle, better.

Para ello, existen zapatillas de “walking” Designed specifically for walking, not for running, with breathable soles and the heel height indicated for each type of foot (which we analyze in the final part of recommendations). Then ..., after everything we have commented, you will be wondering ...
Is there a really suitable footwear for the foot? Can it be pretty? And healthy?
Yes, yes and yes
Characteristics that our footwear should have.
In general:
- A comfortable shoe must have a “posterior buttue” (the rear part) semi -rigid so that the heel has a good fastening and the foot does not “dance” inside the shoe the sole, it should be rubber and flexible, especially at the level of the forefoot (front part) to give more cushioning to the metatarsal and avoid overloads or calluses
- Fine leather soles are history, advisable, since neither cushion nor flex. If there are sweating problems, there are breathable rubber soles
- It is important that the shoe is made by good quality materials, breathable and that its morphology allows the mobility of fingers inside the shoe
- In the case of using heel shoes for a prolonged period of time, it is advisable to carry a more comfortable spare and change it as soon as possible
- But above all, we have to take into account the characteristics of our feet.
